Trump tax cuts is huge for billionaires and nothing for 99%

Paul Krugman about Trump the big baby

In any case, I’d like to make a plea to my colleagues in the news media: Don’t pretend that this is normal. Let’s not act as if that thing released on Wednesday, whatever it was, was something like, say, the 2001 Bush tax cut; I strongly disapproved of that cut, but at least it was comprehensible. Let’s not pretend that we’re having a real discussion of, say, the growth effects of changes in business tax rates.

No, what we’re looking at here isn’t policy; it’s pieces of paper whose goal is to soothe the big man’s temper tantrums. Unfortunately, we may all pay the price of his therapy.

Fans of old TV series may remember a classic “Twilight Zone” episode titled “It’s a Good Life.” It featured a small town terrorized by a 6-year-old who for some reason had monstrous superpowers, coupled with complete emotional immaturity. Everyone lived in constant fear, made worse by the need to pretend that everything was fine. After all, any hint of discontent could bring terrible retribution.

And now you know what it must be like working in the Trump administration. Actually, it feels a bit like that just living in Trump’s America.

What set me off on this chain of association? The answer may surprise you; it was the tax “plan” the administration released on Wednesday.

The reason I use scare quotes here is that the single-page document the White House circulated this week bore no resemblance to what people normally mean when they talk about a tax plan. True, a few tax rates were mentioned — but nothing was said about the income thresholds at which these rates apply.

Meanwhile, the document said something about eliminating tax breaks, but didn’t say which. For example, would the tax exemption for 401(k) retirement accounts be preserved? The answer, according to the White House, was yes, or maybe no, or then again yes, depending on whom you asked and when you asked.

So if you were looking for a document that you could use to estimate, even roughly, how much a given individual would end up paying, sorry.

It’s clear the White House is proposing huge tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy, with the breaks especially big for people who can bypass regular personal taxes by channeling their income into tax-privileged businesses — people, for example, named Donald Trump. So Trump plans to blow up the deficit bigly, largely to his own personal benefit; but that’s about all we know.

So why would the White House release such an embarrassing document? Why would the Treasury Department go along with this clown show?

Unfortunately, we know the answer. Every report from inside the White House conveys the impression that Trump is like a temperamental child, bored by details and easily frustrated when things don’t go his way; being an effective staffer seems to involve finding ways to make him feel good and take his mind off news that he feels makes him look bad.

If he says he wants something, no matter how ridiculous, you say, “Yes, Mr. President!”; at most, you try to minimize the damage.

Right now, by all accounts, the child-man in chief is in a snit over the prospect of news stories that review his first 100 days and conclude that he hasn’t achieved much if anything (because he hasn’t). So last week he announced the imminent release of something he could call a tax plan.

According to The Times, this left Treasury staff — who were nowhere near having a plan ready to go — “speechless.” But nobody dared tell him it couldn’t be done. Instead, they released … something, with nobody sure what it means.

And the absence of a real tax plan isn’t the only thing the inner circle apparently doesn’t dare tell him.

Obviously, nobody has yet dared to tell Trump that he did something both ludicrous and vile by accusing President Barack Obama of wiretapping his campaign; instead, administration officials spent weeks trying to come up with something, anything, that would lend substance to the charge.

Or consider health care. The attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare failed ignominiously, for very good reasons: After all that huffing and puffing, Republicans couldn’t come up with a better idea. On the contrary, all their proposals would lead to mass loss of coverage and soaring costs for the most vulnerable.

Clearly, Trump and company should just let it go and move on to something else. But that would require a certain level of maturity — which is a quality nowhere to be found in this White House. So they just keep at it, with proposals everyone I know calls zombie Trumpcare 2.0, 3.0, and so on.

And I don’t even want to think about foreign policy. On the domestic front, soothing the president’s fragile ego with forceful-sounding but incoherent proclamations can do only so much damage; on the international front it’s a good way to stumble into a diplomatic crisis, or even a war.

Trump is like a child that is influenced easily

Answer to a Krugman article in NYT

your portrayal of The Donald as a temperamental child with inexplicable powers is accurate as far as it goes. But there's a darker side that neither you nor The Twilight Zone explored. This child is susceptible to adults who wish to have his power wielded in their favor. We know that his children are using their father's position to garner business deals. We know that foreign leaders are finding (or have found) ways to influence The Donald through indirect communications. Lobbyists and special interests that specialize in manipulation must be having a field day. But, we'll never know because of the intense secrecy that has been the hallmark of The Donald for his entire life. Non-disclosure agreements with everyone who comes in contact with him; tax returns that will never be released; visitor logs that will never see the light of day; documents relating to Flynn and who knows what else that are hidden or destroyed. This child is frightening not only because of his powers, but because of those who manipulate him.

IVAN(ka) THE TERRIBLE BARBIE

That is the real name. She is known more and more with this name. She is an enabler of his father's follies. People had a vague hope that she might have a positive effect on his terrible father, but now we all know that she is the enabler and herself worse than her father.

Robert Reich on Twitter: "Trump wants to give a "one-time" tax amnesty to corporations with trillions in earnings abroad. Let's look at what happened the last time: https://t.co/EgwjkUlMj8"

Trump's tax plan is very simple

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget projects that the just-released plan would cut $5.5 trillion of the federal government's income, over 10 years. the cost is still astronomical. But it is very good for Trump and his family and the 1% plutocrats who rule America.

This part is from Vanity Fair:

Shortly after golf course owner Donald Trump was improbably elected president of the United States, campaign adviser and soon-to-be Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin boldly claimed that his boss’s tax plan would, in no uncertain terms, provide “no absolute tax cut for the upper class.” Mnuchin, God love him, had apparently momentarily forgotten who he was working for: a man who, in his 70 years on earth, has appeared to be solely motivated by personally enriching himself and his heirs and not much nothing else. Of course any tax plan Trump unveiled was going to provide a massive tax cut to Trump’s cohorts in the upper class. The only question that remained was exactly how much of a tax cut Trump was going to propose for himself.

Today, we got an answer: a really freaking big one. As was widely expected, the Trump administration has called for slashing the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 15 percent. Because the Trump Organization is structured as a “pass through,” the majority of Trump’s income is taxed through that system, meaning that bringing the corporate tax rate down to 15 would effectively cut the president’s own tax liability by more than half. How did Trump defend the thinly disguised plan to set himself up to afford the worst hair dye money can buy for years to come? He didn’t, leaving the job to Mnuchin and fellow Goldman Sachs alum Gary Cohn, the National Economic Council director.

Mnuchin saying he was unable to answer any questions about exactly how much Trump will benefit from the proposed plan on account of not having “access” to his tax returns while simultaneously claiming that the 45th president has “released plenty of information and . . . has given more financial disclosure than anybody else.” Mnuchin reiterated that Trump has “no intention” of releasing his tax returns.

Shoutout to the Trump kids! Cohn confirmed that the president wants to “immediately phase out” the so-called “death tax,” i.e. the estate tax, which the New York Times notes Trump has “railed against for years.” Cohn, hilariously, claimed that getting rid of the death tax is all about helping “American farmers” and other small business owners who are passing their companies onto the next generation, and not the children of multi-billionaires who don’t want to pay taxes on their inheritance.

On the matter of how the administration plans to make up for the loss of revenue based on these tax cuts—so far the White House has repeated the Republican adage that the cuts “will pay for themselves”—the best Mnuchin could muster was: “There’s lots and lots of details that are going into how that will pay for itself,” without actually going into said details. For the most part, “We’re working with Congress on the details,” was the answer to nearly every question posed to Mnuchin and Cohn.

Trump does not even read the executive orders he signs

While signing an executive order in the White House, President Donald Trump revealed his attitude towards reading the executive orders that he is signing, and it confirms reports that Trump is not reading what he is signing as president.

So I want to thank you very much. So do we have the executive order, please?

So this is promoting agriculture and rural prosperity in America. And, now, there’s a lot of words I won’t bother reading everything.

White Male Privilege in US

What does white male privilege look like US? Imagine this scenario: Hillary Clinton is president. It's learned that she has deep ties to Putin. She puts utterly unqualified billionaires in cabinet posts. She puts her daughter Chelsea in a position of influence in the West Wing. And Chelsea's husband is her chief advisor. She refuses to release any tax returns, she blocks access to the visitor logs in the White House and Bill refuses to live in the White House so our tax dollars are spent keeping him safe in Chappaqua. And Hillary spends almost every weekend lounging in a resort.
AND, in an interview, she names the wrong country she bombed while bragging about the chocolate cake she was eating while she ordered said bombing. I could go on and on. The point is that the outrage, the outcries, the screaming by Republicans would be heard around the world and impeachment proceedings would already be underway.
By the way, this is not about political party affiliation at all. Let's face it, if Hillary--or any woman candidate--had five children from three husbands she would never have survived the primary.

Trump's Tax Plan

The Trump tax plan, if it ever sees the light of day, will have one huge beneficiary--Donald Trump!
According to Vox, "It’s the most transparently self-interested policy he’s proposed since taking office, and it will likely save him tens of millions of dollars."

Tax plan and tax return

Mr. Trump, instead of releasing your tax plan this week, please release your tax returns

Trump congratulates Erdogan !!!

Trump was among the first and only leaders who called Erdogan and congratulated him. Not many other leaders of the free world did that. Why? Because Trump has big businesses in Turkey and needs to be on good terms with whoever is ruling Turkey. Even if it was Hitler, Trump would have congratulated.

See what his closest in the family said to Erdogan in this tweet:

Trump hires foreign workers himself and asks others not to hire them

Bess Levin at Vanity Fair:
Last year, Trump got approval to hire 64 foreign workers for his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida through the government's H-2B visa program, according to the Palm Beach Post. Trump has heavily criticized the H-1B program, but not the H-2B, which applies to seasonal or temporary workers. Trump defended the hiring move in a presidential debate last March, saying it is "very, very hard" to find workers to fill those jobs — which included positions for waiters, cooks and housekeepers, according to the Post report.

Trump Winery, owned by the president's son Eric, also applied for foreign workers through the H-2A visa program, which applies to agricultural workers, according to NBC4 in Washington. That business has also said it is difficult to find American workers. NBC News found that shipments of Chinese-made dresses bearing the brand of Trump's daughter Ivanka have continued to be shipped into the United States since Trump took office.

Everybody who wants to know about Trump's stupidity in business should read this article

This article in Newsweek makes bare Trump's great mistakes in business and how he fooled so many people out of their money while losing money himself. Trump has never been a good businessman, he is only a con artist.

Don't get cheated, Trump's supposed infrastructure spending is just a huge bribe to his contractor friends

Trump is no Franklin D. Roosevelt. His promise of infrastructure build is not a Roosevelt New Deal. It is just another bribe to the multi-billionaire 1% to make more money out of the government contracts. History will prove it. They don't want to rebuild America, they just want to Hoover up the tax money from the pocket of the lower and middle classes into the deep pockets of the contractors.

Trump goes where the applause is loudest- that is the best explanation of this empty headed moron

As Mike Allen pointed out in Axios, “Trump goes where the applause is loudest. If that means being a full-throated birther, fine! If that means inciting hysterics about Mexicans, game on! If that means hugging NATO or smiling at corporate cronyism, Trump’s your man!”

It is Trump's Military now, not US military?

“Everybody knows exactly what happened and what I do is I authorize MY MILITARY. I have the greatest military in the world and they’ve done their job as usual. So, I have given them total authorization,” Trump said after meeting with first responders at the White House on Thursday.

Trump and world war

Worried readers on Facebook about Trump and North Korea:

It is time for all Trump supporters and their draft-age children to report to the nearest military recruiting office. You wanted this orange disaster, so you get to be his cannon fodder.

Well, I guess the US has run its course. Nice knowing all of you.

And now that Canada might have legal weed, I can imagine there will be a lot of dodging that draft. Ha.

First ones to be drafted should be Don Jr, Eric, and Jared.

They'll have heel spurs, no doubt.

His sons should be first in line for the draft and front of the battle lines!

This is what happens when a raging narcissist man-baby with zero understanding of consequences finds out he can get praise from the media if he drops bombs. Angels and ministers of grace, defend us.

Less than 100 days in and we're on the verge of war with Syria, Russia, and North Korea, all while dropping the largest bomb since Hiroshima on Afghanistan. This dangerous, moronic ego-maniac is going to get us all killed.

Can we just tell Trump that his numbers are way up so he stops bombing countries??

Coming soon, The USS Trump

Trump

When Trump talks about the chocolate cake, he is promoting his business

Trump in an interview yesterday said that he ordered Syrian(first by mistake he said Iraq) invasion over a  piece of "very delicious" chocolate cake in his Mar-a-Lago resort. What does this mean? The president of United States of America is promoting his resort and its food directly through an interview.

This is shameful, this is corrupt, it has never happened in the history of US. I can't understand why people in US are not going anything about it.

Trump learns North Korea is not a simple matter.... from the leader of China! :-)

President Donald Trump recounted an absolutely astounding detail about one of his conversations with Chinese President Xi Jinping in comments published by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday afternoon. Apparently, Trump came into his first meeting with the Chinese leader, in early April, convinced that China could simply eliminate the threat posed by North Korea’s nuclear program. Xi then patiently explained Chinese-Korean history to Trump — who then promptly changed his mind.

“After listening for 10 minutes, I realized it’s not so easy,” the president told the Journal. “I felt pretty strongly that they had a tremendous power [over] North Korea. ... But it’s not what you would think.”

Four quick observations about this:

Trump thought China could fix North Korea until the Chinese president politely informed him that North Korea is in fact complicated.
Trump seems to have required the leader of China to explain basic facts to him that he could have Googled, or at least asked one of the many US government North Korea experts about.
Trump came to a profound realization about one of the most dangerous conflicts on earth after a 10-minute conversation.
Trump is getting his information about East Asian affairs from the leader of America’s largest rival in the region.

Will you allow Syrian refugees in now?

Mr. Trump, so now that you saw the atrocities committed by Assad in Syria against his own people, are you going to let Syrian refugees in? Or are you still closing the doors to them?

THIS IS THE TRUMP GOVERNMENT RIGHT NOW

My prediction: New York elite and Goldman Sachs are going to win over and kick out right wing fascists like Bannon. After all Trump feels more comfortable with Goldman Sachs thieves.

Trump fired the missiles for Ivanka, not for any political reasons!!!

Without immigration, no wives

What did Trump's missile attack actually achieve???

Trump is using presidency to fill up his pockets

Recurrent trips to Mar-a-Lago and other properties he owns, particularly with leaders that make the visits newsworthy, means he is in effect using the presidency to promote his business.
No one should be allowed to profit from the presidency. Stand up to Trump's corruption.

THESE ARE INTERNET RULES: TRUMP RULE

What is it with Trump and uniforms?

It sounds like nearly the only officials in the government who have an impact on Trump and whom he listens to and likes and does not consider below his great wisdom are the military men. The military uniform has a mesmerizing effect on this boy-man. He deeply respects generals and anybody with military medals and uniforms. Now that he has installed McMaster as the head of the National Security Council the heads are rolling. First Bannon, now McFarland, why, because McMaster has a uniform and the boy-man listens to him.

I suggest all people in his government start coming to work with uniforms, then the “boy” will be a good boy and will listen to all the advice.

Hannity's tweet about TRUMP

What was the achievement of attacking the Syrian base????

What did Trump’s bombardment of the Syrian military base achieve? What effect did it have? Assad was flying jet fighters from the same base the next day, continuing with bombarding his own people and killing hundreds more. What did Trump achieve with this bombardment?  Apparently and definitely nothing as a military victory against Bashar, or for people of Syria. Bashar is still bombarding Syrians with pure impunity and up till now has massacred more than 400,000 of his own people. It was not a warning to Russia also because Putin is still helping Bashar.

It had two aims:

One is a knee-jerk response by an impulsive president who does not spend even a few seconds on considering the outcome of his actions. He had watched clips of Syrian children after the chemical attack and he was angry and when you are president, instead of swearing and punching the wall, you can actually bombard the bastard, no matter how ineffective and undiplomatic it is.

The other main and major goal that was achieved was distracting US media and people from the major story, his collaboration with Putin, his financial corruption, his nepotism and his complete lack of suitability for the job position he was filling. And he achieved that. The fickle media lost sight of the major concerns of American people and started going on about a minor attack for hours and days.

REGRET

I think in the long run even Putin will regret helping Trump to be elected! The world has already regretted it.

forget Trump-Russia

Cruise Missiles

My wife was really pissed at me but then I fired some cruise missiles at the apartment next door and she forgot what she was angry about.

Cruise missiles

Trump should fire Sean Spicer and just have cruise missiles do the daily press briefings - apparently, the media love them.

Friday, April 7, 2017

Why only the chemicals?

Assad has already killed more than 200,000 of his own people, of course with conventional weapons. It is such a hypocrisy to be all worked up for chemical weapons and don't give a damn about the conventional weapons that have killed hundreds of thousands. Every day hundreds of people are killed by Assad forces in Syria, is being killed by conventional weapons easy or different?

One day after bombardment, Syrian fighter jets resume flying from the airport

Syrian fighter jets resume flying from the airport that was bombarded by Trump!!! So what was all that for??? What did he achieve? Just some popularity points in US???

Trump's ratings and the war

So Trump said many times during his campaign that US should not interfere in other’s wars and keep away from them, but now he is more interventionist than Obama and bombards Syria? What will his right wing allies in US say? What will Stephen Bannon say?

But mark my word, if he sees that it makes him more popular and his “ratings” will go up among the populace, he is going to repeat it, not only in Syria, but in North Korea, Iran and other places. God help us.

Thursday, April 6, 2017

Does Trump have any strategy about Syria? Does he know what he wants there?

Isn't bombing Assad helping ISIS? Didn't Trump say again and again that his first and foremost goal in Syria is defeating ISIS. Didn't he say many times that Assad's removal is no longer American's goal, and his cronies in UN and State Department repeat that many times?

So what happened? Is there a policy followed by Trump's government or they just react momentarily to events and to beef up their losing support points?

Trump believes president should get approval for attacking Syria????

According to his own tweet:

Cruise missiles are like Botox for unpopular presidents

Cruise missiles are like Botox for unpopular presidents

At last, Trump notices there is a country called Syria

Trump said this about Obama, and now he is doing what he had said

This is the same Trump who was critical of Obama because he might get involved in Syria????

This is a Trump's tweet from 4 years ago, and now just two months after beginning of his presidency he is bombarding Syria.

Is this stupid person really the president of the United States of America?

Who is it this guy? Is he really "the president of the United States of America"???

When asked Wednesday during a news conference with King Abdullah II of Jordan whether the chemical attack this week crossed a “red line,” Trump said: “It crossed a lot of lines for me. When you kill innocent children, innocent babies, babies, little babies, with a chemical gas that is so lethal, people were shocked to hear what gas it was, that crosses many many lines, beyond a red line. Many many lines.”

He continued: “It’s very, very possible, and I will tell you it’s already happened, that my attitude toward Syria and Assad has changed very much.”

Melania Trump a role model???

As Trump said Melania Trump is a good role model for American women and girls. Let us see what her life teaches women. How to be a porn star and model at the young age of 18 and 19 and then how to gold dig, find a stupid old billionaire husband and live happily ever after without having to work for even one day in your life and wait for him to die and inherit millions.

Trump is senile, no doubt

Anybody still believes Trump is sane and stable?? Follow his morning tweets after he watches Fox and Friends to have your doubts about the sanity of the president of the United States of America. He is crazy, insane, revengeful and angry. I feel sad for the people of America with their dangerously senile president.  Rupert Murdoch must have a hell of a time nowadays, he can talk directly to the president through Fox and Friends and influence American policy.
