Death and Man
And yet, at the end of the day, even Rockefellers and Genchizes of this world die and don't carry any of that wealth and power with themselves to the other world. Even they get the same as the next homeless guy at the corner of the street, a few feet of land 6 feet under for their bones. So why do they heave and try so hard and put so much stress and fear and anxiety and sorrow upon themselves while they know it is all useless? Why don't they take it easy like a fakir in India? What do they get out of all this anxiety and stress at the end of the day?
And yet.....

Reflections on church and Christianity
1. How much cruelty and tribalism resides underneath the bible. The sermon was about Moses and how he let the Israelites pass through the red sea "and then the sea came together and drowned hordes of Pharaohs soldiers". Didn't those soldiers have wives and children like Israelites? Shouldn't they be pities, left to their own resources after the death of their fathers and brothers? No, god does not care about that. God is a "tribal" god! He only cares for the Jewish tribe. For him, like any other tribal guy, people from other tribes are not considered human, they are subhuman, even less than their own sheep and cattle and can die in anyway.
2. I look around, see some disabled people there. Why are you, of all people, here??? To thank god who has created you like this, who has inflicted perpetual pain and suffering on you? What is there to thank him for? One of my friends used to wonder about gay people who try hard to be accepted into the church and wage lengthy campaigns for that. He used to say: For what? To go to church to thank god to have created them as homosexuals and denied them one of the greatest pleasures of life which is the love and touch of the opposite sex?
3. they line up to have the wine and bread. Isn't it a totally tribal custom? The tribe's witch giving all sorts of strange things to people to eat and telling them it is the blood of that deity and this god? Weren't the Romans, and actually all prmitive tribes also, practicing these ceremonial sacrifices and drinkings of blood and flesh? Christianity has just changed it by a thin veneer of a religious story. Funny thing that Mormons have changed the wine into water and have water in their churches.
4. Thank goodness I don't need to accompany everybody else in singing the silly songs and standing and sitting every few minutes. Why can I do this, because millions of people have sacrificed their lives in the past hundreds of years so that I can sit there without having to follow the crowd and pretend that I believe and not afraid for my life.
5. The building is large but deserted. It has definitely seen better times, when everybody used to attend the chruch or at least pretended to believe and attended. There are a miserable small number of people here. I think of the power and glory of the church before. Alpha males at that times, used to be attracted to the church because of it's power and money, and as usual, wherever alpha males are, you can expect cruelty and deceit and war and torture and churches did not leave anything to imagination in that department. But now that they can't attract people and money, they are devoid of alpha males, here I can just see some weak soles smiling perpetually. Boy, I can smell the minister's smelly breath from here in the first row.

Power of brainwashing, Christmas tunes in Dec
In Christmas time anywhere you go, from the malls to the stores to the streets, you hear these same carols endlessly. In a short time, you find yourself repeating them endlessly in your brain.
Well, this is the simplest and easiest brainwashing. We human beings are very susceptible to this. Now imagine how a newborn kid living in a cult family environment can escape from incessant indoctrination in the family? It is just impossible. The "tunes" drilled into his impressionable brain are going to be played there forever. But same can be said about grown up human beings in many dictatorships.

Intelligence and death
Why.... among all the animals on this planet, we became the only ones to understand that we are doomed to end and to death and decay?

New Pearl of Wisdom by great philosopher Jin Tao
If these men of cloth, these great clergy, really believe in god and life after death, then why do they do their best to prolong their life and delay death. From Pope to Khomeini, they cling to their dear lives up to the last day. They don't show any willingness to rush to meet their god. They use the latest medical techniques and inventions and drugs to live one day more. Khomeini loved life after death so much that he had made a rather large hospital in his residence. The sole purpose of that hospital was to take care of his ailing body and prolong his life. The hospital was so advanced and large that after his death it was turned into a general hospital for the public. The former pope also the same, despite all his ailments, he was not willing to leave this world of sin and squalor and join his god in the heavens.
These men, just by their acts, prove that we human beings know instinctively in our bones that there is no life after death. Despite all the teachings, and in their case despite a lifetime of teaching, still they know deep down that it is all a child's story and death if final and full and complete destruction of life.

Shouldn't we worship the human brain instead of god??
What is a miracle? The story of Lazarous in the bible, or this amazing gadget in my hand? This small miracle of human ingenuity that lets me talk to somebody at the other side of the globe with the click of a button?
If there is a god, it is our brain. Our magnificent and unbelievably complex brain that has made cell phones and cars out of the rocks and oil of the ground. As if with a magic wand, we have turned simple rocks in the ground into these objects. Aren't we, human beings, the real god? Why do we tend to worship other imaginary and childish objects. If it was for me, I would put an effigy of a human brain on a pedestal in any temple and tell people," if you want to pray and worship a god, at least worship the real god", yourselves.

Meaning of life
We are born into this world without any purpose, it has just been a roll of dice for us, no goal, no aim, just being born, like any other chemical event, like a fly or dinosaur or bacteria or virus, or any other animal. We try hard to understand the meaning of life, but if we are honest, we have to admit that there has been no aim or higher goal in our birth or existence. But we can give meaning to this meaningless existence by our actions and thoughts. And then after death, nothing remains, exactly like other animals, or bacteria, or viruses. we are just a moment between two eternal darknesses. This is bleak, but this is the reality of our existence in this world.

The tragedy and the heroism
Human life in general is tragic. We are all sailing towards death. There is no denying it. From the moment we are born, we are dying bit by bit. And we are the only animal who knows that it is dying..... and yet, in the face of this undeniable and irrefutable death, we build lives, make families, make love, have children, laugh and dance and celebrate and make merry.
That is the heroism of human beings. That is the heroism of life, that despite inescable death, still smiles in the face of death. That is why I respect homo sapiens, it is the only animal on this planet that knows it will die sooner or later, and there is no escape, and yet despite that, it struggles, it builds, it writes, it composes symphonies, and it tries to be happy.

Mormons, Religion
1. They remind me of soviet style planning. Each factory head and production unit had a production quota and in earlier times, if you did not meet it, you were dead meat. Do they have a production quota also? Is somebody in Utah going to order them be executed if they don't convert a certain number of people at the end of the year? Why are they so eager to jump to baptism even without knowing if I really believe or not?
2. They look like a man that wants to sleep with the woman under the testosteron pressure and can't wait. They are so eager and so rushed, they just see the baptism at the end of the road and nothing else.
3. Why do people turn to them? It is certainly not the belief structure, it is so childish, it is funny. No, I understand now. It is the warmth and the friendship and the shallow smiles.
4. Why do the Christians smile so much? Are they the ones that have not yet heard the bad news? Seems everybody else is dour and sour because they know the reality of the cruel world.
5. We intellectuals tend not to take them seriously. We under-rate them. We think the ideology is so unscientific, so childish, that there is no chance of winning the masses with it. While we are laughing at them and think they are just marginal, they are busy converting. Since talking to them, I tend to take the danger more seriously. They fill up the void in people's life, the huge void opened up by capitalism.
6. In a sinking ship most people suddenly remember god and religion and start praying in earnest even if they did not believe before. Why is it that in the most capitalist country in the world Christianity is so powerful? Is it a sinking ship? In a cruel capitalist world, where people don't find any help or support system, they turn to these groups, to these ideologies to feel support and peace of mind. If they have a clear, defined, safe future ahead of them, and know that a powerful welfare and social systme supports them, they will be like tourists on a cruise ship, enjoying life and not caring that much about religion. As a proof, it is just enough to check Europe in comparison to the US.
